# Aviation Simulators Lab - Guide FR/EN

## Francais

1. preparer une seance de simulation avec limites et criteres d'arret;
2. transformer meteo, NOTAM, masse et piste en decision operationnelle;
3. verbaliser une correction de cap ou de trajectoire;
4. produire un debriefing court avec preuve JSON.

### Regle bilingue

Taches:

1. nommer l'objectif de la seance;
2. identifier le role de l'etudiant, de l'observateur et de l'instructeur;
3. definir au moins deux criteres d'arret;

- piste 09;
- vent 120/12;
- visibilite 6 SM;
- masse dans les limites;
- navigation courte locale.

Taches:

1. evaluer si le depart est acceptable en simulation;
2. nommer un risque principal;
3. annoncer une mesure de mitigation;
4. inscrire la justification dans la fiche.

Preuve attendue: "Meteo et NOTAM discutes" cochee et decision coherente.

### Exercice 3 - Navigation courte

Taches:

1. inscrire le cap prevu;
2. lire la visualisation de piste;
3. observer un ecart de route fictif;

Questions:

1. Qu'est-ce qui etait prevu?
2. Qu'est-ce qui s'est produit?
3. Quel ecart etait le plus important?

### Visuels recommandes

- capture de la page "Visualisation de piste";
- image de cockpit educatif ou tableau de bord simplifie;
- carte locale simplifiee avec deux points de navigation;
- fiche de masse et centrage pedagogique;
- capture du JSON de preuve apres generation.

### Suivi de production

Statut actuel: aucun simulateur desktop detecte localement.

## English

### Module Purpose

This lab gives the Faculty of Aviation and Aerospace Sciences a simulation activity that can be used immediately, even when no desktop simulator is installed on the local PC. It complements the Monday 5:00-6:00 PM session, "Short navigation and guided simulation".

The module trains four competencies:

1. prepare a simulation session with limits and stop criteria;
2. convert weather, NOTAMs, weight and runway constraints into an operational decision;
3. verbalize a heading or track correction;
4. produce a short debriefing with JSON evidence.

### Bilingual Rule

Every instruction must be available in French and English. A student may work in one language, but the program must preserve the same teaching requirement in both languages.

### Exercise 1 - Preflight and Safety

Objective: confirm that the student can start a simulation without confusing play, demonstration and supervised learning.

Tasks:

1. state the session objective;
2. identify the student, observer and instructor roles;
3. define at least two stop criteria;
4. confirm that the simulation does not authorize any real-flight decision.

Expected evidence: "decision and justification" field completed, "safety briefing completed" checked.

### Exercise 2 - Weather, NOTAMs and Departure

Objective: force an explicit decision before execution.

Baseline scenario:

- runway 09;
- wind 120/12;
- visibility 6 SM;
- weight within limits;
- short local navigation.

Tasks:

1. evaluate whether departure is acceptable in simulation;
2. name one primary risk;
3. announce one mitigation;
4. enter the justification in the sheet.

Expected evidence: "Weather and NOTAMs discussed" checked and coherent decision.

### Exercise 3 - Short Navigation

Objective: train the link between planned heading, runway, wind and observed deviation.

Tasks:

1. enter the planned heading;
2. read the runway visualization;
3. observe a fictional track deviation;
4. propose a simple verbal correction.

Example correction: "I am 5 degrees right of track; I correct left, stabilize, then return to planned heading."

Expected evidence: "observed deviation" field and correction justification.

### Exercise 4 - Debriefing

Objective: separate plan, execution and learning.

Questions:

1. What was planned?
2. What happened?
3. Which deviation mattered most?
4. What correction will be applied in the next session?

Expected evidence: downloaded JSON submitted to the course lead or saved in the student file.

### Recommended Visuals

- screenshot of the "Runway visualization" page;
- educational cockpit or simplified instrument panel image;
- simplified local map with two navigation points;
- teaching weight-and-balance sheet;
- screenshot of generated JSON evidence.

### Production Tracking

Current status: no desktop simulator was detected locally. The web lab is therefore the active version. If a desktop simulator is installed later, add its path to the inventory, produce a launch sheet and map the exercises to equivalent missions.
